These Terms of Service apply to purchases made from The Curious Chandler through thecuriouschandler.ie.
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights available to you under applicable Irish consumer law.
About us
The Curious Chandler is an Irish artisan heritage studio based in Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland.

The online store
You may use this website only for lawful purposes. You must not interfere with the operation or security of the website, attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious software or use the website in a way that infringes the rights of another person.
You must provide accurate and complete information when placing an order.
Products
We take reasonable care to describe and photograph our products accurately.
Because our candles are made in small batches, slight variations in colour, finish or appearance may occur. Colours may also appear differently depending on the screen or device being used.
Such minor variations do not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.
Availability
All orders are subject to availability.
Placing an order does not guarantee acceptance. If a product is unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and refund any payment received for that product.
Orders and acceptance
After placing an order, you will receive an electronic acknowledgement. This confirms that we have received the order but does not necessarily mean that it has been accepted.
A contract is formed when we confirm that the order has been accepted or dispatched.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where there has been an obvious pricing or product-information error, suspected fraud, unauthorised payment, stock unavailability or another legitimate reason. If payment has already been taken, it will be refunded.
Prices and payment
Prices are displayed in euro and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Delivery charges are shown separately at checkout.
Payment must be authorised before an order is dispatched. Payment processing is handled by the payment providers made available through Shopify checkout.
Delivery
We currently deliver within Ireland only.
Orders are normally dispatched within 1–2 working days and delivered by An Post. Estimated delivery time is 2–5 working days after dispatch.

Returns, cancellations and refunds
Eligible online purchases may be cancelled within the applicable 14-day cooling-off period.
Customers are responsible for return postage for non-faulty change-of-mind returns. This does not apply where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.

Candle use and safety
Candles are products with an open flame and must be used responsibly.
Customers must read and follow the safety information supplied with each candle and the Candle Safety and Care guidance published on this website.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles away from children, pets, draughts and flammable materials.
The Curious Chandler is not responsible for damage caused by use that is contrary to the product label, supplied safety instructions or reasonable candle-safety precautions. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Intellectual property
The text, photographs, product names, designs, graphics, branding and other original material on this website belong to The Curious Chandler or are used with the permission of their respective rights holders.
They may not be reproduced, distributed, republished or used commercially without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
Third-party services and links
The website may contain links to third-party websites or use services provided by third parties, including payment, delivery and social-media services.
We are not responsible for the content, availability or privacy practices of third-party websites. Accessing a third-party website is at your own discretion.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Curious Chandler will not be responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory consumer rights.
Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Shopify and selected service providers process information required to operate the store, take payments and fulfil orders.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when our business, services or legal obligations change.
The terms applying to an order are those published when the order is placed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
