Returns and Refunds
We hope that you will be delighted with your purchase from The Curious Chandler. If you need to return an item, please read the following policy and contact us before sending it.
Your right to cancel
When purchasing online, you generally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days without giving a reason.
The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you, receives the goods.
To exercise this right, email enquiries@thecuriouschandler.ie within the 14-day cancellation period. Please include your name, order number and the item or items you wish to return.
After notifying us, you must return the goods within a further 14 days.
Condition of returned goods
You may examine an item as you would in a physical shop. You are responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the item.
Candles should therefore be returned unused, unburned and, where reasonably possible, in their original packaging. A candle that has been burned or used may have materially diminished value.
Return postage
Customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning non-faulty goods following a change of mind.
Please obtain proof of postage and package the goods carefully. We cannot accept responsibility for returned goods that are lost or damaged in transit.

Refunds
Once the returned goods have been received and inspected, we will notify you.
Eligible refunds will be made to the original payment method. The refund will include the price paid for the returned goods and, where required by law, the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered when the order was placed.
Additional delivery charges resulting from a more expensive delivery method are not refundable beyond the cost of standard delivery.
We will process the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after being informed of your decision to cancel. We may withhold the refund until we receive the returned goods or you provide evidence that they have been sent back, whichever occurs first.
Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to place the funds in your account.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Your statutory rights are not affected by this policy.
If an item arrives damaged, is faulty, is not as described or you receive the wrong item, contact enquiries@thecuriouschandler.ie as soon as possible. Please include your order number, a description of the problem and photographs where helpful.
Where goods do not conform to the contract, we will provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable Irish consumer law. We will cover reasonable return costs where goods are faulty, damaged or supplied incorrectly.
Orders cancelled before dispatch
If you wish to cancel an order before it has been dispatched, contact enquiries@thecuriouschandler.ie as soon as possible. If dispatch has not yet taken place, we will cancel and refund the order.
Personalised goods
The statutory cooling-off right may not apply to goods that have been made to a customer’s specifications or clearly personalised. This does not affect your rights where an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
