Studio Journal No. 001
From the Studio
There is a strange point in any project when it stops being an idea and begins to become real.
For a long time, The Curious Chandler existed in notebooks, research folders, fragrance samples and half-finished conversations. There were names for collections, sketches for labels, historical references, wax tests, supplier emails and endless questions about what this might eventually become.
Now, slowly, those pieces are beginning to gather into something tangible.
The first labels are moving towards production. The first House Chronicles are taking shape. Workshops are being planned. Fragrances are being tested, rejected, adjusted and occasionally greeted with great enthusiasm. Historical research that once belonged only in lecture notes or archives is beginning to find another life through scent, objects and story.
That is what this journal is for.
From the Studio will be a place to share the parts of The Curious Chandler that happen before a finished candle reaches a shelf: research trips, testing, new Chronicle ideas, workshop preparations, discoveries, mistakes, things that work unexpectedly well, and probably a few things that do not.
Some entries may begin with a medieval manuscript.
Others may begin with a fragrance oil, a ruined church, an old map, a conversation, or something noticed while walking through the Irish landscape.
And, from time to time, Bran will undoubtedly appear to supervise proceedings.
The Curious Chandler was created from a belief that history becomes richer when we remain curious about the small things: what people smelled, touched, made, carried, grew, burned and brought into their homes.
This journal is an invitation to follow that process while it unfolds.
The Chronicle is only beginning.

A reward for your curiosity.
